About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. Since I acquired my license I have worked with a variety of people, those with anxiety, depression, neurodivergent challenges and persons in life changing obstacles. I previously worked for the court system, for non-profit substance abuse agencies, and in private practice. My professional experience has reinforced my belief that people are far more than a label or diagnosis. My work with individuals from diverse backgrounds has taught me that no one should be defined by a diagnosis or a difficult period in their life. I believe that each individual brings strengths, resilience,, and the capacity for growth. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can be heard, understood and empowered.
I have experience working with persons suffering from anxiety, depression substance use, relationship issues divorce, family conflict, grief and gender dysphoria. Additionally, I have worked with client involving self-confidence/self-esteem, coping skills and every day issues. My hope is to help people improve their relationships, find their authentic self and/or at least not feel alone.
Because each individual has a different reason for seeking help, I use an eclectic approach to counseling involving Narrative therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, (which includes DBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and solution Focused Therapy. Whether it be individual counseling or couples counseling my goal is to help you find inner peace.
