About me
I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. While I work to help individuals and couples with any issue they face, I specialize in personality disorders, pregnancy and loss of pregnancy issues (including adoption, still birth, abortion, miscarriage, and infertility), and ADHD. Depression and anxiety, as well as life and goal issues are also examples of work I do with clients. I have a B.S. in psychology with a focus in substance abuse, and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I see each client as a unique individual, which defines their issues as unique as well. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space, but also provide opportunities of challenge to help the client grow and/or change in areas of life that are important to them. I am highly creative with interventions and coping skills/tools. I feel creativity helps me cater to the uniqueness of the client and their situation. Telehealth is the modality I use for therapy. I found, during COVID, that telehealth allowed clients to be in a space during therapy that was comfortable for them. That makes a huge difference in how therapy is received by the client.
Always looking for new trainings and doing new research into therapeutic treatments and interventions has allowed me to utilize clients' interests and hobbies in working through an issue. Trainings provide new ways to work through issues, while research helps solidify interventions that are evidence-based in being beneficial to the clients I serve.
Originally from the Seattle area, I have lived in the great state of Texas since 2007. I love the outdoors, music, painting, reading, and spending time with my awesome husband and children.
