About me

Here for the Hard Seasons—Helping You Make Sense of What Happened, Heal What Hurts, and Move Forward

I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Iowa. I am also a CSAT Candidate with IITAP. I earned both my master's and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in 2011 and have been working in the mental health field since 2006. I have dedicated my career to helping people grow, heal and thrive.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to serve in many different roles, including:
Outpatient therapist at a community mental health center, lead therapist in an inpatient hospital, school-based counselor in California and Missouri, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, wellness counselor at ENMU, Chemical dependency therapist in both inpatient and outpatient programs, and as an adjust professor in the Master's Counseling Program at Missouri Valley College.

Each role has shaped how I show up for the people I work with: compassionate, real, and focused on meeting you where you are. These diverse experiences have given me a wide lens to understand the challenges people face at every stage of life.

In 2025, I expanded my work with beginning my Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) certification a passion that began for me in graduate school, with IITAP.

in 2026, I became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2.

Whether I'm working with a child, adult, couple, or family my mission is the same: to support growth, resilience, and balance in every stage of life.

Working with me is a collaborative and supportive process. I believe everyone has a unique story, and therapy should reflect that. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work together to fit your needs, goals, and experiences.

My style is warm, direct, and non-judgmental. I want you to feel safe being honest about what you're going through. In our sessions, I’ll spend time listening and understanding your story, while also helping you explore patterns, emotions, and challenges that may be keeping you stuck. I’ll gently challenge you when it’s helpful, but always with respect and care.

I view therapy as a partnership. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to help guide, support, and offer tools and insights that can help you move toward the change you want. Sometimes that means processing difficult experiences, building healthier coping skills, improving relationships, or working through past wounds.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client. In the beginning, we spend time getting to know your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our work together. This helps us identify goals and create a direction that feels meaningful and helpful to you.

A typical session is a conversation where we explore what’s been happening in your life, the thoughts and emotions you’re experiencing, and patterns that may be affecting your well-being or relationships. Some sessions may focus on processing difficult experiences or emotions, while others may involve learning practical tools and strategies to help you cope, communicate more effectively, or respond differently to challenges.

I work to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. At the same time, I may gently challenge unhelpful patterns and encourage reflection and growth. Therapy isn’t about judgment; it’s about helping you better understand yourself and move toward the changes you want in your life.
