About me
I'm an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC, NCC) at Novara Counseling in San Diego, helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, overthinking, and self-doubt. I use CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients better understand their emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and build confidence in themselves.
Hi, I'm Brynne Wicklund, APCC, NCC, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor at Novara Counseling in San Diego.
I work with adolescents and adults who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or caught in cycles of overthinking, negative self-talk, and self-criticism. I understand how exhausting it can be to constantly question yourself, struggle with difficult emotions, or feel stuck in patterns that are hard to change.
My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences, understanding yourself better, and working toward meaningful personal growth.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Through CBT, I help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to challenges. DBT skills can support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and navigating difficult situations. With Motivational Interviewing, I help clients explore their goals, work through uncertainty, and strengthen their motivation for change.
Areas I Can Help With
I support clients navigating:
Anxiety and persistent worry
Depression and low motivation
Overthinking and negative self-talk
Self-criticism and low self-esteem
Emotional regulation and coping skills
Stress and life transitions
Co-occurring substance use concerns
My background in crisis care has also shaped my ability to approach challenging situations with empathy, understanding, and practical support.
