About me

Hello All - My name is Bryan Hamilton (all pronouns welcome). My therapist journey: I earned a Master of Social Work degree - Advance Standing Program at Cal State University Los Angeles with a focus of serving individuals, groups, and community members. In my early career path, I worked directly with and have a deep understanding and knowledge base of individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community through my direct work with HIV testing, counseling, and linkage to healthcare. This work set the tone for me as a therapist, working in the non-profit community-focused arena for my long lived 17 year stint at AIDS Healthcare Foundation in Los Angeles. I worked in providing clinical healthcare services, including mobile testing and outreach efforts to the public. I continue to bridge my passion to help others during my MSW internship at Silverado Memory Care Community supporting those challenged with dementia related conditions and disorders, including family support in residential care.

I want folks to know that when you come into work with a new therapist - there should always be a safe space for them to come in and begin to heal. My background is less important but I do work collaboratively from a person-first, client centered, and grassroots approach. I like to hold space to integrate a self-empowering and solution-focused model. My therapeutic values incorporate the knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment styles, grief and loss, humanistic therapy, narrative/talk therapy, and somatic therapy, which I consider to be highly impactful in our healing journeys. I am certified in somatic therapeutic work through guided breathwork facilitation and other meditative practices.
