About me
I have been a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania for the past 25 years. Prior to that I worked with children and adolescents in a variety of therapeutic settings such as group homes, approved privates schools and residential treatment center. My current area of interest are working with people experiencing major Life Transitions, helping Men explore Healthy Masculinity and how to practice this in their close relationships, as well as a strong interest in Spirituality.
In the summer of 1980, Bryan began to work at a group home for adolescent boys, not knowing that this was the first step on a 40 year career in social services. Along the way, Bryan has worked with children, adolescents, couples, families and groups in a variety of settings, including the child welfare system (foster care and group homes). For the past 25 years, Bryan worked in a Community Behavioral Health Center in Philadelphia. Hired as a Child Therapist in 1993, Bryan held a variety of clinical positions within the organization culminating in the last 5 years a President and CEO.
Bryan earned a Master’s Degree in Psychoeducational Processes at Temple University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from JFK University. Bryan received his Psychology License in Pennsylvania in 1985.
Transpersonal Psychology is a specialty area within the field of Psychology that places particular emphasis on a person’s spirituality. Spirituality, in this context, involves the recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself, something more to being human than sensory experience, and that the greater whole of which we are part is cosmic or divine in nature. Bryan’s training as a Transpersonal Psychologist involved both the study and practices of Western Psychology as well as those of Eastern Religions and Philosophies.
Transpersonal Psychologists believe that one is better equipped to guide a journey if they have partaken in it themselves. To this vein, Bryan has benefitted himself from being in therapy. He is also a long term practitioner of daily meditation and other mindfulness activities.
Bryan is a son, brother, husband, father and friend, He loves watching and playing basketball, although the playing part is increasingly challenging. He is also an avid music lover.
