About me
Hi! My name is Brooke Bonvillain. I am a graduate level intern at Aspen Grove Counseling and Wellness. I provide therapy services under the supervision of Jaime Filler, LMFT. I see clients both in-person and online in Decatur and I have evening availability. I offer low cost and sliding scale services, making sure to work with all my clients to ensure therapy services are affordable and accessible.
You may be doing everything you are supposed to do and still feel deeply unhappy. From the outside, your life might look fine enough, but internally you feel stuck, restless, or disappointed by how different things are from what you imagined. Maybe you keep wondering why everyone else seems to be moving forward while you feel frozen in place. You might be exhausted by your own thoughts, carrying shame about where you are, grieving what has not happened, or questioning whether you are falling behind in life, love, or work.
Some days, it is not even one big thing. It is the accumulation of small moments that seem to hit all at once. The phone call that reminds you how different your life looks from someone else’s. The questions from family that leave you feeling exposed or misunderstood. The loneliness of coming home and realizing how much you have been holding in all day. You may be grieving something tangible, or grieving the loss of an expectation, a timeline, a relationship, or a version of yourself you thought you would be by now. You may be moving through pregnancy, postpartum, relationship changes, or another transition that has left you feeling uncertain or emotionally worn thin.
If that is where you are, you do not have to keep carrying it alone.
I work with individuals and couples in their 20s and 30s who are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and the growing awareness that something needs to change. I am especially drawn to supporting people who feel stuck in life or in their relationships and want a place to be honest about what is hurting, what feels unclear, and what they hope could be different.
I believe there are many kinds of grief that deserve care, including grief for the life you thought you would have, the version of yourself you expected to be, or the relationships you hoped would feel easier. In our work together, I help clients explore their values, better understand their emotions, and begin moving toward change and growth in ways that feel genuine and attainable.
With couples, I create a space where both partners can slow down and feel heard. I work with couples who are facing communication struggles, disconnection, or major transitions that have changed the shape of their relationship. I help couples approach one another with more openness and understanding while exploring how past experiences, family dynamics, and present stressors are shaping the relationship now.
My style is collaborative, warm, and grounded. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can bring the parts of yourself that feel messy, uncertain, overwhelmed, or not quite ready. I want to approach all of my client's as humbly and humanly as possible. You are the expert in your own story. I do not know your experience and I do not assume to know all you have been through, but I do know one thing: If you are taking the courageous step to reach out and seek therapeutic services, I am willing to meet you exactly where you are. Together we can create space for healing, insight, and movement toward the life and relationships you want.
