About me
Have you found motherhood to be more challenging than you thought it would be? The adjustment to becoming a mother to one, two, or three + is one of the most difficult transitions a woman can experience in her lifetime. It's not uncommon for Mothers to feel depressed, on edge, scared, or lonely during this time. As a Mom to two and an LCSW specializing in maternal care, I get it. You want relief from your symptoms, to feel confident in your new identity as a Mother, and you want to feel that positive bond with your baby. I'm here to tell you that healing is possible and that you are not alone. I have worked with Mothers from all different backgrounds and I am dedicated to helping Mothers feel better, fast.
I'm passionate about helping Mothers feel better because I have lived through the challenges of the postpartum period myself. I recovered from postpartum depression when I accessed good quality therapy that helped me get back on my feet and fall in love with being a Mother. Ever since, I have been on a mission to provide that same excellent care to Mothers who are going through it now.
There is nothing quite like welcoming a new baby into the world. While you might be so happy to have baby here now, your routine has been disrupted, you likely have lost out on social connection, you are sleep deprived, and maybe you are fighting with your partner now. You might also be worried about returning to work or staying at home with baby. I am here to listen to you, problem solve when you need it, and help you develop new skills so that you can get back to living and start enjoying life with baby.
The type of therapy that a Mother needs is unique to each individual and her experience. Some Mothers just need a place to safely air their thoughts and feelings while others want and need more intensive mind and body support. I am trained and certified in a number of different modalities to help Mothers with their specific issues. Overall, I consider myself to be a holistic care provider for Mothers which means that I offer tools to help your mind and body align with the mission of helping you feel more at peace and balanced. I am certified through Postpartum Support International which is considered the gold standard for therapists who are supporting Mothers. I am also certified in Integrative Mental Health, Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT), and Traumatic Stress Studies. In addition to this, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). I use a combination of all of these skills to help the Mothers that I serve.
I meet with Mothers in three different ways. I offer telehealth appointments for Clients all across CA and FL but I also offer two unique forms of treatment for my Bay Area Clients (where I live). If you live in Santa Clara County, I offer Walk & Talk therapy where you and I can meet up on a quiet local trail and take a gentle walk together. You get to enjoy the experience of getting outside, moving your body, and having an hour to share what's been on your mind. Infants are welcome to attend but only if you want them to come along. I have found Walk & Talk therapy to be immensely healing because it helps women to get up and moving in nature while also giving them a safe space to chat about what has been most challenging for them recently. I also offer in home Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT). Ketamine is a safe, FDA approved medicine that can be hugely healing for Mothers who are living with treatment resistant depression or anxiety or who have experienced birth trauma. If KAT is a good option for you, I can either meet with you virtually or come to your home for the dosing sessions which are typically 2 to 3 hours long. During this time, you will go on a journey with the medicine for approximately 1 hour. After this, you and I will have therapy which may involve talking, artwork, yoga or breathwork. With any of these modalities, I encourage you to reach out so that we can develop a unique plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.
Don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to get to know you and to see how I can support you.
