About me
As an experienced psychotherapist, I am dedicated to working with adult clients who experience the emotional and physical challenges of cancer and other serious medical conditions, as well as those with anxiety, trauma, grief, or behavior and mood-related concerns due to life transitions, compounded daily stressors, age-related issues, or traumatic events.
As a PhD, LCSW, with an additional masters of science degree in gerontology and healthcare, I am trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, both Western psychotherapeutic approaches, and traditional Yoga and Yoga therapeutic approaches (mindfulness meditation, breathwork, yoga postures, etc.). My personal history with serious medical illness and healing via yoga therapy inspire my passion to help others challenged by serious illness, injuries, cancer, life transitions, and trauma. My philosophy of counseling and yoga therapy is that it serves all people: those who are well can become stronger, those who are not well can find healing, and for those that cannot be cured (to paraphrase well-known yoga teacher B.K.S. Iyengar) they can learn to transform the pain into something more endurable. As your therapist, we will develop a plan together that will work for you, tailored for you. Together, we will begin that healing journey one breath at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time.
