I believe that adversity or trauma can touch anyone in all walks of life and sometimes we need extra support to come alongside us in times of difficulty. Self-determination propels individuals to do well when given the opportunity and the right tools. Having a passionate motivation to help others and a desire to bring positive change to children, youth, and families I believe, as a practitioner, that therapy is meant to empower individuals to make these changes. If adversity that seems insurmountable has touched you or your family my passion is to come alongside to partner and empower you or your loved one to overcome these challenges.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist, and am the Founder and CEO of Birch Street Therapy, LLC. I got my undergraduate degree from George Fox University in Social Work and Communication Arts. I received an Advanced Standing Master’s Degree from Portland State University. Prior to opening a private practice, I worked in a group practice setting and also worked for many years at Child Welfare working with complex trauma and as an Adoption Specialist. I have post-graduate certificates in Therapy with Foster and Adoptive Families as well as Infant and Toddler Mental Health. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, TheraPlay, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Play Therapy. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am trained in Trauma-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (TF-EMDR). Additionally, I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional.
