About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker and strategic leader, dedicated to advancing trauma-informed care and empowering individuals through compassionate, evidence-based practice.
Welcome. My name is Brandon Pelletier, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and principal at The Brain Ranger PLLC. My journey into the field of mental health has been shaped by years of service, leadership, and a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s most difficult challenges. I believe therapy is not simply about addressing symptoms—it is about creating a safe, empowering space where you can rediscover your strength, reclaim your voice, and move toward the life you want to live.
From the very beginning of my career, I have been drawn to the intersection of resilience and healing. As a former Army psychotherapist and Mental Health NCOIC, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that trauma, stress, and transition can have on individuals and families. Those experiences taught me that healing requires more than clinical skill—it requires compassion, cultural awareness, and a willingness to meet people exactly where they are. Today, I bring that same dedication into my private practice, where I work with clients across the state of Maine.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and deeply human. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, I tailor each session to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Whether you are seeking support for trauma recovery, navigating anxiety or depression, managing life transitions, or simply striving for greater clarity and balance, my role is to walk alongside you with empathy and expertise.
I draw from evidence-based modalities such as:
• Trauma-informed care – recognizing the impact of past experiences and creating a safe environment for healing.
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – helping you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns.
• Mindfulness and grounding techniques – cultivating presence and resilience in the face of stress.
• Narrative and strengths-based approaches – reframing your story to highlight resilience, growth, and possibility.
• Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy
• Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
and more…
At the heart of my practice is the belief that therapy should empower you. My sessions are not about me telling you who you are or what to do—they are about helping you discover your own answers, build your own tools, and create sustainable change.
Why I Do This Work
I chose this profession because I believe in the power of human connection. I have seen people at their lowest points—moments of grief, trauma, and uncertainty—and I have seen those same people rise, rebuild, and thrive. That transformation is what inspires me every day.
My background in the military gave me a unique perspective on resilience, leadership, and the importance of community. It also reinforced the reality that mental health is not a luxury—it is a necessity. Whether you are a veteran, a professional balancing career and family, or someone simply trying to find peace in a chaotic world, you deserve care that honors your story and equips you for the future.
What You Can Expect
When you step into therapy with me, you can expect:
• Safety and trust – a space where you are heard, respected, and supported without judgment.
• Practical tools – strategies you can use in daily life to manage stress, improve relationships, and build resilience.
• Collaboration – therapy is a partnership; your goals guide our work.
• Growth and empowerment – sessions designed not only to address challenges but to help you thrive.
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting. Many people worry about being judged, misunderstood, or overwhelmed. My commitment is to make the process approachable, transparent, and affirming. You do not have to carry your struggles alone.
My Professional Journey
Over the years, I have worked in diverse settings—from military installations to private practice—always with the same mission: to provide care that is both clinically sound and deeply compassionate. As principal at The Brain Ranger PLLC, I have built a practice that reflects my values of integrity, accessibility, and excellence.
My expertise lies in blending clinical knowledge with operational precision. I am meticulous about compliance, documentation, and professional standards, ensuring that every aspect of care meets the highest benchmarks. At the same time, I never lose sight of the human side of therapy—the warmth, humor, and authenticity that make healing possible.
Areas of Focus
While I work with a wide range of clients, my areas of focus include:
• Trauma recovery and resilience building
• Anxiety and depression management
• Life transitions and identity exploration
• Stress management and burnout prevention
• Veteran and military mental health
• Relationship and family dynamics
Each of these areas reflects not only my training but also my lived experience working with individuals in high-stress environments. I understand the complexities of balancing personal, professional, and cultural expectations, and I help clients navigate those challenges with clarity and confidence.
My Philosophy
I believe therapy is both an art and a science. The science lies in evidence-based practices, clinical training, and measurable outcomes. The art lies in the relationship—the trust, empathy, and creativity that make therapy meaningful. My philosophy is simple: healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered.
I also believe that therapy should be accessible and practical. You should leave each session with insights and tools you can apply immediately, not just abstract concepts. My goal is to help you build resilience that lasts, so you can face future challenges with strength and confidence.
A Message to Potential Clients
If you are reading this, it means you are considering therapy—and that is a courageous step. Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or simply want to invest in your personal growth, I want you to know that you are welcome here.
Therapy is not about “fixing” you. It is about helping you reconnect with your strengths, clarify your goals, and move forward with greater confidence. You already have the capacity for growth and healing; my role is to help you access it.
Closing Thoughts
My work is guided by a simple truth: people are resilient. No matter how heavy the burden, no matter how complex the challenge, there is always a path forward. Therapy is the process of finding that path together.
I bring to this work not only my clinical expertise but also my humanity. I am a therapist, yes—but I am also a listener, a collaborator, and an advocate for your growth. My practice is built on the belief that every person deserves care that is compassionate, professional, and tailored to their unique journey.
If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can create a space where healing is possible, growth is sustainable, and your story is honored.
