About me
I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in binge eating and body image concerns, committed to helping clients build a peaceful relationship with food and themselves through a Health at Every Size approach.
If you’ve found your way to this page, you might be feeling overwhelmed by your relationship with food, stuck in a pattern of binge eating, or just plain tired of trying to change your body. Maybe you're not sure if you even belong in therapy, or you're wondering if someone will truly get what you're going through.
I want you to know: you’re not alone, and yes — you belong here.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor and founder of Libra Virtual Care, where I specialize in working with people who struggle with binge eating, body image distress, anxiety, and mood challenges. With over a decade of experience, I created Libra Virtual Care to offer a more compassionate, personalized, and trauma-informed space—one that centers Health at Every Size and meets you exactly where you are.
Clients who work with me often describe me as direct, honest, and straightforward — but always compassionate. I'll help you stay accountable to the goals you would like to work on. I believe therapy works best when it’s a real partnership where we can be open and clear about goals, challenges, and progress.
I blend evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT‑E), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) with a trauma-informed, Health at Every Size lens. This means you’ll get practical strategies while also learning to challenge weight stigma, develop self-compassion, and rebuild a peaceful relationship with food and your body.
We’ll talk about food and body image, sure — but I also want to understand the whole you: your stressors, your joys, your neurodiversity, your past experiences, and how all of it shapes your current story.
A few things I believe:
- Binge eating is never a personal failure; it’s a way your mind and body have learned to cope.
- You deserve care that honors your whole self, not just your eating behaviors or weight.
- Therapy should be real, respectful, and rooted in collaboration—not performance.
- Healing is messy and nonlinear, and you don’t have to do it alone.
- Your size doesn’t define your worth or your right to care.
I provide virtual therapy for individuals ages 16 and up, serving clients across Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, Michigan, and Texas. Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed by their inner critic or isolated by their experiences. Some are navigating co-occurring challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma — all of which impact their relationship with food and self.
Virtual therapy is more than convenience—it’s accessibility, privacy, and connection, no matter where you live or what your schedule looks like. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can show up as you are, whether that’s from your living room, your car (just don't be driving while in session), or somewhere else that feels safe.
What you can expect from me
- Clear, honest communication paired with empathy and respect
- Practical tools and insights tailored to your unique needs
- Support navigating insurance or self-pay options
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, and dismantling stigma
- A partnership focused on your values and goals, not just symptom reduction
If this feels like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, I’d be honored to connect. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about showing up, being seen, and finding your way forward with someone who understands. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here. The easiest way to start working together is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation through our website (top right button on every page).
