About me

I focus on helping people cope with life changes, anxiety, aging, anger and relationships.

I'm Billy Eli. Throughout my life, I have made a point to observe what is going on around and to see how I fit in.  Sometimes I improve my fit, other times I have felt completely out of whack and sought to figure out how to change.  That has sometimes meant seeing a therapist for a while to help me learn how to navigate changes in life or differences in the world as I expected and the world I actually saw around me.

I’ve been a pipeliner and worked with bluecollar workers.  I’ve been a touring musician and worked with artsy folks. I’m married to a lawyer and have been around professionals. I also have children, including two with significant special needs. In all my life I’ve had exposure to a lot of different backgrounds and lifestyles, and am comfortable with people in all walks of life. I finally got up the courage to start college for the first time ever at the age of 56 and I now have a bachelors degree in psychology and am in the final stages of a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Here are some reasons you might want to talk to me:
• You’re a musician struggling with all of the reality bullshit that society insists we pay attention to and deal with. I’ve been a professional musician for almost 40 years. I understand all of the challenges that come with juggling a music career and real life.
• You’re going thru life changing events such as retirement. As a professional musician, I have no hope of ever retiring. However, I think I can help any of ya’ll that had enough grind to make it to the end of a career.
• Empty-Nest Syndrome. As the parent/step-parent of 4 grown children, I have some experience with this. Some of the kids moved out. Some of the kids still live at home. I can help you work thru either situation.
• Medical Diagnosis. I’ve never had a medical diagnosis but I did have my gall bladder removed. That’s similar if not exactly a medical issue.
• Divorce. I’ve had a lot of experience with this one.
• The usual other stuff. Like anxiety, depression, chronic anger, or anything else that makes you say “I should talk to somebody about that.”
