About me
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family counselor. I have 30+ years of experience helping clients.
If you keep doing what you did, you will keep getting what you got!
If you have seen the movie “Groundhog day” starring Bill Murray as Phil, you would say it is a comedy. But it is more. He finally breaks out of his dull, repetitive life not by changing his surroundings or anyone else; he changes himself.
Just like Phil, if you don’t change something, nothing will change. That is the purpose of counseling: to help you try something different, to change something about yourself, to help you become the best YOU. Whether you are in a tough spot or just have issues you want to address, getting an outside viewpoint can help.

What to Expect:
- I work to create a safe, welcoming environment that lets clients explore their feelings. I focus on helping clients develop firm boundaries and communication skills. Both are learned strengths that can improve quality of life.
- Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be looking for and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share. I currently have openings on for video or online appointments. I would like to help you on your journey.
- Starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, and scary all at the same time. Congratulations on taking the first step by reading this.
My Approach:
* In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the challenges you're facing. This will help me create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
* I am trained in Cognitive/Behavioral, Psychodynamic, & Systems theories. I use whichever works best for a client. I believe in homework because it makes the sessions more productive. It also helps clients quickly apply any insights learned. Clients keep all handouts to refer to later.
* I have extensive experience working with both voluntary and court-ordered clients. I think I connect well with clients from all walks of life, and especially well with young adults as well as practicing Christians. In short, I enjoy helping people who are struggling to gain or regain their footing and move forward, regardless of what prompted them to seek counseling.
Note: Sorry, I do not work with couples who want me to side with one of them against the other. In such cases, the couple seems to have already decided they want a divorce and only want to be able to say they tried counseling before getting one.
