About me
I am an associate therapist who is passionate about providing a culturally affirming, empathetic, accepting space for self-growth and self-discovery
Hello! I’m Beyza, my pronouns are she/her, and I am an associate therapist at Diaspora Therapy Group. I provide individual therapy to children, teens, and adults both in-person and online in California.
As the eldest daughter in an immigrant family, I know the complexities of managing family expectations, nuanced relationships, and third culture identity. Many of my clients battle with intellectualizing their feelings, parentification, burnout, and feeling like a burden. I can provide a safe space and tools to move from intellectualizing to truly experiencing feelings and moving forward.
I am neurodivergent-affirming and specialize in working with ADHD. I know that it can look different for every individual, especially girls and women. At times, it can feel like an invisible burden to carry that goes deeper than other people expect. In addition to providing more tools to manage the difficulties, I encourage authentic self-expression, self-advocacy, and accommodations.
I am passionate about mental healthcare accessibility and care for the Muslim community. I know everyone has different relationships with their faith, and I know there is not one way to be Muslim. I understand the importance of finding a therapist who understands and values your identity. My work is centered on liberation and justice, and I work with queer Muslims. It can be difficult and isolating to balance community, culture, religion, and the authentic self. You should not have to sacrifice any part of yourself or what is important to you to find connection and spirituality.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and compassionate. You are an expert on your own life, and my job is to accompany you through your healing journey. My various identities and experiences have shaped my passion for social justice and mental healthcare accessibility. I strive to be a practitioner that is rooted in anti-oppression, decolonization, antiracism, and anti-capitalism. I value a holistic approach to healing and enjoy incorporating clients’ cultural or spiritual healing practices and rituals that align with their values and goals.
If you are searching for a culturally affirming, empathetic, accepting space for self-growth and self-discovery, you are in the right place. I look forward to beginning the work together.
