About me
I am a queer-identifying therapist who specializes in working with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, dysphoria, and trauma.
Clients have often told me I’m not like other therapists–I have a sarcastic and yet gentle approach that combines an intersectional and de-colonizing lens. My work is grounded in the firm belief that you are the expert in your own life and only through an authentic and affirming approach can one truly begin to heal. I show up in session as my true self as an invitation for you to do the same–without feeling as if you’re being judged, minimized or pathologized. Using an anti-oppressive framework and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and somatic (body-based) techniques, I work largely with the LGBTQ+ community and allies on various issues one might be challenged with these days. Whether you’re interested in processing trauma, improving symptoms of anxiety or depression, affirming your gender &/or navigating the transition process, developing coping strategies, overcoming shame or low self-esteem, or building resilience and trust in oneself, we’ll work together to foster a sense of agency and self-acceptance in achieving your goals.
