About me
I am a National Board-Certified Counselor with over 15 years' experience in direct mental health counseling. I am licensed to practice mental health counseling in the State of New York. I also have over 20 years working within the criminal justice system and the courts evaluating clients at various stages of trauma resulting from incarceration, social injustice, family disruption, poverty and addiction. As a licensed minister I integrate faith-based therapeutic methods for my clients who seek them.
I have developed a holistic approach to counseling concentrating on what I call the "7 Pillars of Health" wherein my clients can learn to monitor their overall well-being and begin a successful plan and practice of self-regulation and recovery. I am a proponent of Individual Psychology as created by Alfred Adler, and am quite adept at Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness methods. As a Christian Counselor I strongly encourage clients to explore their spirituality as part of the healing process.
I have counseled veterans, law enforcement officers, business professionals, men, women, young adults, teens, children and seniors to overcome a host of anxiety-based disorders and mood dysregulation. I am uniquely equipped to engaged difficult client cases in the urban environment, but my diverse background and extensive experience also allow me to identify with the needs of clients in suburban and rural communities as well.
I sincerely look forward to working with you towards your personal wellness goals!
