Azhar Waheed, LCSW

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. My name is Azhar Waheed, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving individuals in Delaware and Pennsylvania. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work and have dedicated my life to helping individual's navigate life's challenges with compassion, structure, and support. I am experienced with working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. I became a therapist because I truly believe that, with the right support, every person has the ability to overcome adversity and create meaningful change in their life. It is a honor to walk alongside others as they discover their strengths and build healthier ways of thinking, feeling and living.

Outside of my work, I enjoy horseback riding, swimming, and arranging flowers- simple joys that help keep me grounded and balanced. I bring that same since of care, calm, and encouragement into the therapeutic space. What will make this therapeutic experience different from others is that I will not only provide therapy but help individuals understand how to function optimally has a human. We have learned many different subjects in our life but have not learned what it means to be human and how to live our hugest existence. I utilize different therapeutic strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I have an eclectic approach and utilize stoic philosophy at time as a guide to effective behavior and healthy living. You don't have to do this alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
