Ayse Cici Gokaltun, PhD

I am an experienced psychologist who is dedicated to helping children and their families cope with anxiety, emotion regulation, autism and ADHD. I am a certified Autism Spectrum Clinical Specialist and PCIT therapist. I am also experienced working with adults struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma and parenting stress.

Dr. Cici-Gokaltun, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist providing evidence-based care to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, emotion regulation difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD. She is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and a certified therapist in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Dr. Cici-Gokaltun also works with adults experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and parenting-related stress.

Dr. Cici-Gokaltun has been with Southampton Psychiatric Associates since 2021. Prior to this, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at WES Health System, where she specialized in comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults in community mental health settings.

She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Istanbul University, where she also worked for five years as a psychologist in kindergarten and childcare settings, providing consultation to families, developing educational programs, and supervising preschool teachers. During this time, she was trained in the Small Steps Early Education and Family Guidance Program for children with special needs.

Dr. Cici-Gokaltun received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Florida International University. As part of her predoctoral training, she worked in a National Institute of Mental Health-funded clinical research program at the Child Anxiety and Phobia Program (CAPP), where she conducted diagnostic evaluations using structured clinical interviews for anxiety disorders in youth.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cici-Gokaltun has been teaching undergraduate courses in developmental psychology since 2010 at Florida International University and The College of New Jersey.
