About me
I am an experienced family/child psychologist and parent of 3; I do understand the challenges of parenting and struggles to understand a child's or teen's behavior. My career as a clinical specialist spans over decades and includes experience in psychological assessment, formulation-led treatment planning, and delivering evidence-based therapies. I am also a parent and have deep compassion for children and their families. I can help parents understand child development and answer the "why" behind a child's or teen's behavior. Above all, my practice is a safe place for both parents and kids, each in their own way, and learning to understand each other to create a positive and supportive family environment. I specialize in the assessment and treatment for ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.
I became interested into the study of clinical psychology after realizing that the most critical mental health support often happens in the messy, real-life moments, not just in a traditional office. I am an immigrant from Germany with parents who survived wars and rich stories of human survival and caring. From a young age on I was surrounded with cultural diversity and individuality in people. I had always been fascinated by human interaction and how words could have a profound affect on not only the meaning but how it made people feel. I came to the United States to study Psychology and ended up with a doctorate while raising 3 kids. My journey has focused on supporting families, parents, and kids through the high-pressure noise of modern life, from digital burnout to career anxiety and parenting challenges. Instead of traditional 'blank slate' therapy, I offer an authentic, collaborative, and sometimes humorous space where you are the expert on your life, and I am the guide helping you navigate it. I prioritize practical but evidence-based tools for immediate relief while dismantling the shame and stigma often attached to seeking help from a psychologist.
