About me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor with over 10 years of clinical experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. I specialize in relationship concerns, anxiety, trauma, and emotional well-being, providing a compassionate, collaborative, and supportive space for healing and personal growth.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Life can be overwhelming, relationships can be complicated, and sometimes we find ourselves stuck in patterns that seem impossible to change. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, navigating relationship difficulties, healing from past experiences, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself or others, you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor (LMFT-S) with a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and over 10 years of clinical experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, infidelity, parenting difficulties, family conflict, grief, and major life transitions.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that understanding ourselves and our relationships is essential to meaningful change. I utilize a combined therapy approach with a focus on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), approaches that help clients better understand their emotions, recognize patterns that keep them feeling stuck, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I also incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and family systems perspectives to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and goals.
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. You don't have to come in knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. Some days we may explore difficult emotions or experiences, while other days we may celebrate progress, discover new perspectives, or even share a laugh. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, feel comfortable asking questions, and know that your experiences matter.
Through my private practice, Rise Above Therapy, PLLC, my goal is to help clients move beyond simply managing symptoms toward developing a deeper understanding of themselves, building emotional resilience, and creating lasting change. I recognize that no two people or relationships are alike, which is why I believe in meeting clients where they are rather than expecting them to fit into a particular therapeutic mold.
I also understand that reaching out for help can feel intimidating. You may have spent years putting everyone else's needs before your own, trying to hold everything together, or wondering why certain patterns keep repeating themselves. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, explore those experiences, and begin making changes that feel authentic and meaningful to you.
Above all, I want my clients to know that they don't have to be perfect, have all the answers, or face life's challenges alone. Whether you're seeking healing, clarity, stronger relationships, or a renewed sense of purpose, I would be honored to support you along the way.
