About me
I am an experienced clinical psychologist helping individuals and couples heal from porn and sex addiction, betrayal trauma and the impact of infidelity.
I work with individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, shame, trauma, compulsive sexual behavior, pornography addiction, relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, and betrayal trauma.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, high-functioning individuals who feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Some have spent years trying to control behaviors through willpower, guilt, secrecy, or self-criticism, only to find themselves discouraged and exhausted. Others come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, emotional numbness, relationship conflict, or a painful sense of disconnection from themselves and the people they love.
My approach is warm, engaged, practical, and depth-oriented. I integrate psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed work, behavioral strategies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and principles drawn from 12-step recovery. I believe lasting change comes not only from managing symptoms, but from understanding the emotional and relational roots of what keeps people stuck.
A major focus of my work is helping people develop greater emotional awareness, honesty, and self-understanding. Many struggles that appear “irrational” on the surface make more sense when viewed through the lens of attachment, shame, trauma, loneliness, anxiety, or learned survival strategies. Therapy can become a place to slow down, understand what is really happening internally, and begin responding differently—with greater clarity, stability, and self-leadership.
I also work extensively with couples dealing with the aftermath of secrecy, betrayal, emotional withdrawal, and broken trust. I help partners improve communication, reduce cycles of shame and defensiveness, and begin rebuilding honesty, safety, and connection in a realistic and grounded way.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I balance depth and insight with directness, warmth, and practicality. I aim to create an environment where people can speak openly about subjects that are often difficult to discuss anywhere else, including sexuality, shame, trauma, religious conflict, intrusive thoughts, and relationship struggles.
I have particular experience working within religious and culturally sensitive communities, including the Orthodox Jewish community, where issues involving sexuality, marriage, and emotional health can carry additional layers of shame, fear, and isolation. My goal is not to offer simplistic answers, but to help people think clearly, heal honestly, and move toward greater integrity, connection, and emotional well-being.
I offer confidential telehealth therapy as well as in-person sessions in Jackson, New Jersey.
