About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client’s unique strengths and needs. I utilize evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem-Solving, and child-centered play therapy, along with extensive experience in ABA. I value family involvement and multidisciplinary collaboration to help create meaningful, lasting progress. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered while developing emotional awareness, healthy coping strategies, stronger relationships, and greater confidence to navigate challenges at home, school, and in everyday life.
Hello! My name is Arielle Mazzuca, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, and their families navigate life's emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
I have spent my career working closely with children and families in pediatric and community mental health settings. One of the things I value most about this work is getting to know each child as an individual—not simply focusing on a diagnosis or a particular challenge. Every child has their own personality, strengths, experiences, and way of communicating, and I believe therapy should reflect that.
My approach to counseling is compassionate, collaborative, and family-centered. Depending on the needs of the child or young adult, I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem-Solving, and child-centered play therapy. I also have significant experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and supporting children with behavioral and developmental needs.
For younger children, therapy may look very different from traditional talk therapy. Play, activities, problem-solving, and age-appropriate conversations can give children a comfortable way to express feelings, build emotional awareness, practice coping strategies, and develop important social and behavioral skills.
I also believe that supporting a child often means supporting the people around them. Parents and caregivers are an important part of the therapeutic process, and I enjoy helping families better understand what their child may be experiencing while developing practical strategies they can use at home and in everyday situations.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, school teams, behavioral health professionals, child welfare professionals, educators, and other members of a child's care team. I strongly value this team-based approach because children often make the greatest progress when the important people in their lives are working toward common goals.
Above all, I want children and young adults who come to see me to feel that therapy is a safe place where they can be themselves. My goal is to build a trusting relationship, recognize their strengths, help them work through challenges, and give them tools they can continue using long after they leave my office.
I look forward to getting to know each child and family and helping them move toward greater confidence, emotional well-being, and success.
