About me
I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety and OCD using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to create lasting change.
I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California. After receiving my bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, I went on to attend Woodbury University for a master's degree in Leadership. Realizing business was not for me, I enrolled at Fielding Graduate University and completed my post-baccalaureate in clinical psychology. I then went on to receive a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate University.
Most recently, I worked as a psychotherapist for the OCD Center of Los Angeles where I specialized in the treatment of OCD, anxiety, and related afflictions. I have experience providing individual and group psychotherapy to adults and teenagers. Along my journey to specializing in OCD, I worked in a variety of settings, including a high school for teens with behavioral issues, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, and a community psychotherapy clinic. A large portion of my experience has come from receiving individual and group psychotherapy for the treatment of OCD.
I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP). When appropriate, I also incorporate wisdom from 12-Step programs. It is my life purpose to help others improve their quality of life through evidence-based practices and a strong therapeutic relationship.
I am an active member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences (ACBS), and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
Some of my personal interests include: philosophy; meditation; veganism; weightlifting; inline skating; mountain biking
