About me
Greetings,
My name is Dr. Annette Love. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor currently licensed in California, Nevada, Illinois, and previously Washington DC. My educational background consists of a Bachelor's degree in psychology, a Masters degree in professional counseling, and a Doctor of Education in counseling psychology. My greatest asset alongside formal education, is life experience.
I’ve worked with a variety of clientele-it is therefore very difficult to surprise me. I consider a few of my areas of expertise anxiety, depression, changing harmful thought patterns, and grief and loss. Overall my experience in behavioral/mental health started in 2003 (17 years).
If you're wondering how we may work together, here's the type of client I work best with:
An ideal client comes just as they are. They arrive with an expectation that help and recovery is near. They’re open to guidance, somewhat like having a copilot, navigating the peaks and valleys of mental illness, addiction or just life. Their goal is to get better, and they are willing to work towards this. This client wants someone positive, maybe even comical at times, yet knowledgeable and as passionate about them getting better as they are. Although at times life doesn’t seem fair, they’re willing to work through these struggles with support.
You've taken the first step to feeling better-kudos to you. I would be happy to learn how I can help you further.
Until we meet, be well.
