About me
I am an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is dedicate to helping adults 18 and above. I practice conservative yet complex medication management to target specific symptoms associated with PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD (non-stimulants), Chronic Pain with Depression, Chronic Insomnia, Mood Disorder/Bipolar disorder, Impulse Control Issues, Medication Assisted Alcohol Use Disorder to decrease cravings and food cravings.
I am dual board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Adult Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. I am also licensed in 6 States: AZ, CA, CO, OR, MD and WA and provides adults (age 18 and above) with prompt access to psychiatric tele-mental health services for conditions that include ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Mood Disorder, Chronic Pain, Insomnia and PTSD.
I have extensive experience with PTSD/Military Combat-Related and Sexual Trauma and have been a board certified PMHNP/CNS for over 10 years. My treatment approach is rooted in conservative medication management coupled with holistic treatment strategies to improve clinical outcomes.
As a dual Master’s prepared clinician, with Master’s degrees in Human Relations and Science, I am trained and competent to deliver evidenced-based brief psychotherapy during our medication management sessions. I strive to align my client’s individual values with their treatment goals to improve their overall quality of life and functioning. In addition to prescribing psychiatric medications, I also skillfully collaborate with clients to apply different methods and techniques to strengthen coping strategies to contribute to long-lasting recovery and resilience. This is a crucial part of my practice resulting in my clients’ progress and sustained success towards meeting and exceeding their goals.
I am also a proud Navy Veteran and recently retired from the US Navy, after 22 years of service. I deployed twice in support of overseas combat operations where I cared for wounded warriors and other service members in need. After my Navy Retirement, I worked for the San Diego VA Health Care System where I continued to dedicate my compassionate and non-judgmental care to veterans with complex dual diagnoses stemming from invisible wounds of war.
With my diverse clinical and professional nursing leadership experience, dedicated to safe and positive treatment outcomes, I strongly believe I have a unique view and experience with psychiatric care and believe that a more comprehensive approach to wellness can have an incredible impact on happiness, recovery, and overall health.
Most of my clients’ testimonials would say “Anna is an exceptional and experienced practitioner who leads with listening to understand her clients’ needs and provides targeted treatment that includes tailored education to empower clients to collaborate in their care.” Because of my commitment to support my patients, I have consistent 4.8 to 5-star client reviews!
In my personal time, I am an avid gardener and enjoy spending quality time with family and good friends. More importantly, in order to stay current with evidenced-based research interventions, I love attending continuing medical education to ensure that my clients obtain the highest quality and safest care.
Essentially, my NEW mission, now that I completed my commitment to the US Navy, is to provide Access to care.
