Anna Slawny, LPC

I am licensed professional counselor with over 15 years of experience. I work with individuals to work through grief, anxiety, and self-esteem.

I first discovered my love for working with others in middle school. I was part of a support group and realized how helpful it was for me, so wanted to help others, as well. I put my desire to help others into action by joining Americorp-Vista post obtaining my undergraduate degree from St Olaf College in psychology, in 1999. I spent four years in Chicago working with individuals that live with homelessness and chronic mental illness. I obtained my counseling masters degree from UW-Whitewater in 2006. I have worked in case management, as a therapist, crisis services, and post hospital follow up post my graduate degree. In every role, I have maintained a person centered, trauma informed approach to therapy. I am a licensed professional counselor and enjoy helping others move towards becoming the healthiest version of themselves.
I believe we are all ever evolving. Introspection and reading self-help books is a great place to start. But, sometimes we need more personalized support to help us meet our goals. I utilize a range of different techniques and treatment modalities in working with clients. Using a variety of techniques leads to a treatment style that meets clients where they are at and helps them get to where they want to be in life. Therapy gives you time, allows you to shed some tears (if needed), provides perspective and hope. I am an empathetic listener and would love to be part of helping you start your new adventure.
