About me
I am an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has helped many individuals, couples and teens change their outlook in life by focusing on identifying negative thoughts, challenging those irrational thoughts and changing limiting, painful, and punitive beliefs to positive beliefs and trust in themselves and their partners in life.
I am licensed in Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and in New Mexico as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counseling (LCPC) with over 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience with helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem, and self-confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
The treatment modality I generally use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which makes the argument that most of our achievements and decisions are based on our thoughts. Therefore, if we can identify our thoughts, we can change them and our feelings and our actions or behavior. CBT has helped people deal with anger, depression, stress, grief, self-loathing, low motivation and poor self-esteem. I have worked extensively with people with trauma histories. I use many treatment techniques, including ACT, CPT, EFT, DBT and EMDR. All have proven effective with trauma symptoms.
Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I commend you for your bravery. I am here to support you in that process.
