About me

I am a LMFT, LPCC, and SUDCC IV who is dedicated to helping people better understand themselves and better cope with anxiety, depression, and addiction.

I have spent the last 20 years working with people in various ways from all walks of life. I have been a mentor, a youth professional for at risk youth, an addiction counselor, and now an LMFT / LPCC which has enabled me to help individuals with challenges of all different shapes and sizes. Aside from my education and work experience, I have had a great deal of life experiences and challenges to overcome, which enables me to spot patterns and understand issues more rapidly for those that I work with. I believe strongly in the power of the mind and how shifting perspectives can shift life in a positive direction fairly quickly. I believe we are all just having our own unique experiences in this thing called life. Everyone is different and will need various approaches that are best suited to them so I use more of an eclectic approach and use what I believe will work best for each individual client. My natural approach is motivational interviewing, solution focused, and person centered. I strongly believe that everything we experience in life shapes us in one way or another and many times we are unconscious of the particular events that establish unhealthy thinking patterns. When we become more conscious of them, we can reframe them rather quickly which can be life altering. In the first session, we will go over what your major concerns are, what you want and expect from therapy, and what it will realistically look like. We will begin building a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship that helps you feel more at ease. In the following sessions, we will begin to identify patterns, challenge unhealthy patters, and begin to uncover the source of what is bothering or affecting you.
