About me
Angelique Lawrence is a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist with Christian values. I have over 20 years of experience with marriage, families, and children. I also counsel military couples/families, parent-child relationships, conflict resolution, anger management, divorce mediation, and reunification. I am also available for consultant and telehealth.
I received a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University in NY. I received a second Masters in Military Psychology from Adler University. I’m also Certificated in Alcohol and Substance abuse (CASAC), Sexual therapy, and Divorce Mediation in NY and VA. Specializing in Child Psychology all ages major focus on 6-17 years old. Children and co-parenting issues are my second specialty in helping families navigate through life. Depression, anxiety, family reunification, divorce and parenting, and behavioral concerns, just to name a few.
I utilize evidence-based therapy techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Imago Relationship Therapy with Gottman Method, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My goal is to utilize my training, experience, and skills to walk alongside each person in fostering their growth.
I am a Christian and my therapy approach is to assist each person on their journey. I provided a safe place for individuals and families to express their belief systems. I am very sensitive to individual needs and recognizing not every person I encounter will be on the same path. I have counseled individuals and families of all faiths some with strong beliefs, those with no beliefs, and everyone in between.
I promise to provide a safe space where you can bring your faith into therapy or not, that choice is left up to you. I will provide a therapeutic atmosphere where you will be challenged to grow and develop skills to cope with life.
