About me
I am committed to provide affirming care that is intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed in an effort in finding hope, resolving trauma, changing habits or patterns, adjusting to life transitions (e.g., menopause, individual and family lifespan, new state, new country, relationship(s), home, college, or work); or, coping better, set goals and attaining them; or, feeling comfortable in your own skin and your relationship with self.
Finding a connection with a therapist and one you can afford is one of the hardest parts of beginning therapy. My first and foremost conviction from experience as a leader and relational therapist is that if there is no connection (therapeutic alliance), understanding, or trust you will not feel safe to communicate freely. On the contrary asking for help or advice, much less paying for it, can seemingly be humiliating or dishonoring depending on your culture, philosophy, background, ethnicity, community, and/or tribe. I am invested in striving to provide all of my clients who have taken this courageous, and in some cases vulnerable step of seeking help with a safe and professional space to communicate freely without opinion or judgment.
My specialty is the ability to use my diverse cultural experience, professional knowledge, and academic background from a systemic (relational) view with a client-centered approach based on your culture and your life, your family, and your religious norms--not mine. I have extensive experience of facilitating multiethnic, multicultural, cross-geographical, biracial, interracial, and 2SLGBTQI+ couples and families find healing and growth with a systemic evidence-based approach. My systemic therapeutic style rides the tale of extensive personal and professional experience, academic excellence, Doctoral American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Supervisors, Psychologist, and Leaders from many cultures around the world for over 20 years. I will provide evidence-based systemic therapy and strive to help you increase your self-awareness, identify unhelpful behaviors, and cope more effectively in your relationship with yourself and others. I will strive to create a straightforward, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where each individual, couple, and family will feel heard, understood, and respected with unconditional positive regard.
My personal, professional, and academic experience affords me the confidence to work with all genders, ages, races, cultures, and relationships whether individual, as a couple, or as a family in a collaborative therapeutic relationship. This includes affirming care that is intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed in an effort in finding hope, resolving trauma, changing habits or patterns, adjusting to life transitions (e.g., menopause, individual and family lifespan, new state, new country, relationship(s), home, college, or work); or, coping better, set goals and attain them; or, feeling comfortable in your own skin and relationship with self.
I invite you and your family to a safe and judgment free environment to talk about your concerns so that hope can become possible for positive forward change in your life.
