About me
I am a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping individuals cope with the everyday stressors of life, reaching their full potential and seeing themselves in a new light. I have provided therapy to individuals from children to the elderly. I also have experience providing therapy to adults with an Intellectual Disability and have used modified treatment strategies to work effectively with that population. I use a strength based approach and encourage you to talk about whatever it is you would like to work on to set the pace for your sessions and develop your treatment goals.
I utilize different approaches such as dialectical and cognitive behavioral interventions, and skills for emotional regulation specifically for those with cognitive challenges. We can work together using EMDR for those that may benefit from bilateral stimulation to process thoughts and memories that are causing distress and narrative techniques to empower you to give meaning to your own unique story. When first meeting, I use motivational interviewing which is an approach that helps with identifying any concerns, establishing goals and also with discussing expectations and your motivation to engage in therapy.
