About me
I help adults and teens make sense of their lives, live with intention, and move forward with courage by providing practical, relationship-centered therapy for anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, relationships, and the challenges that leave people feeling stuck.
Hi, I'm Andy Jack, LCPC, owner of Tartan Counseling in Wheaton, Illinois.
I believe most people don't need to become someone completely different—they need the space, support, and perspective to reconnect with who they are and what matters most.
Life has a way of leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck. Sometimes the problem is obvious. Other times it's harder to explain. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns, questioning your direction, struggling in relationships, wrestling with ADHD, or carrying stress that never seems to let up. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and confidence.
The name Tartan Counseling reflects the belief that every person's life is made up of many different threads—our experiences, values, relationships, faith, successes, disappointments, strengths, and struggles. When those threads feel tangled, life can feel confusing or overwhelming. My role is to help you weave those pieces together into a life that feels more intentional, meaningful, and whole.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I work hard to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being honest without fear of judgment. I value genuine conversation, thoughtful reflection, and evidence-based treatment that leads to real-life change. Together we'll seek to understand not only what's happening, but why—and develop practical strategies that fit your life rather than simply adding another list of things you "should" do.
While every client is unique, I frequently work with adults and older adolescents experiencing:
• Anxiety and chronic stress
• ADHD and executive functioning challenges
• Depression and low motivation
• Life transitions and identity questions
• Relationship and communication struggles
• Grief and loss
• Work-related stress and burnout
• Men's mental health
• Faith and spirituality as they relate to emotional well-being, when that is important to the client
Before opening Tartan Counseling, I spent more than two decades serving people in counseling, education, ministry, athletics, and leadership settings. Those experiences taught me that lasting change rarely comes from quick answers. It grows through trust, honest conversation, self-awareness, and small, intentional steps taken over time.
Whether you're navigating a difficult season, trying to break long-standing patterns, or simply looking for a place to think more clearly about your life, my goal is to help you make sense of where you've been, discover where you want to go, and move forward with courage.
I would be honored to be part of that journey.
