About me

I help adults navigate complex trauma, difficult relationships, anxiety, and boundary challenges so they can build greater self-trust, healthier relationships, and a more authentic life.

Hi, I’m Andrew. I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who works with adults who are tired of feeling stuck in patterns they understand intellectually but can’t seem to change.

A lot of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and high-functioning. From the outside, they may look like they have it together, while internally they’re exhausted, overwhelmed, second-guessing themselves, or struggling to understand why certain relationships and situations affect them so deeply. You may be successful in your career, deeply caring toward others, and accustomed to being the person everyone relies on—yet still find yourself struggling with anxiety, burnout, boundaries, self-doubt, or relationships that leave you feeling depleted.

My practice focuses particularly on complex trauma, relational trauma, narcissistic and emotional abuse, codependency, people-pleasing, boundaries, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I help clients understand the patterns that developed to help them survive or maintain connection, while building new ways of relating to themselves and others that feel healthier and more authentic.

I also have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ clients and provide explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming care. My practice welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, queer, and other LGBTQ+ clients, as well as people exploring identity, relationships, sexuality, or nontraditional relationship structures. You don’t need to educate me about who you are in order to feel understood here. I strive to create a space where you can be honest about your experiences without having to edit, explain, or defend yourself.

My approach is warm, direct, practical, and trauma-informed. I draw from approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, somatic work, narrative and relational therapies, and other evidence-informed approaches depending on what you need. I don’t believe therapy should simply give you more insight into why you feel the way you do. The goal is to help that insight translate into meaningful change—how you respond to difficult situations, how you communicate, how you set boundaries, how you choose relationships, and ultimately how you experience yourself.

I work collaboratively and at a pace that respects your nervous system. Sometimes therapy needs to involve going deeper into the past and understanding where patterns came from. Other times, you need concrete tools for what is happening in your life right now. Often, we need both. My role isn’t to tell you how you should live or what decisions you should make. It’s to help you become more grounded, clear, and connected to yourself so you can make those decisions from a place of greater confidence.

I particularly enjoy working with people who have spent a long time taking care of everyone else and are ready to start making room for themselves. This includes professionals, creatives and artists, caregivers, highly sensitive or emotionally perceptive people, and adults recovering from relationships characterized by control, manipulation, emotional neglect, or abuse.

Therapy is available through secure telehealth, making it possible to work together from the privacy and comfort of your own space. I currently provide services to clients in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Florida. I offer private-pay therapy and can provide a superbill for clients who have out-of-network benefits.

If you’re considering therapy but aren’t sure whether I’m the right fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping will change, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
