About me
I'm an experienced, licensed clinical social worker with a long history of providing individual and family therapy, treating depression, anxiety, and relational issues. I've received specific, speciality training in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, trichotillomania (hair pulling), excoriation (skin picking), tic disorders. I also have a background in trauma work, PTSD, and family therapy.
My work, which has been shaped by my own experiences of suffering and clinical training, is more of a calling than a career. Like many in this profession, I consider myself a Wounded Healer -- which is the term the renowned psychologist, Carl Jung, used to describe the therapist's role in the therapeutic relationship. The Wounded Healer has suffered the wounds that come with simply being human and allowed these wounds to shape and transform their work in healing others.
Our work together will be collaborative, but always moving towards the change you want. It is possible to live your life well despite the challenges that come with the human experience. We will work on this together.
