About me

I am here to offer you a safe, accepting, validating, and empathic space. I work with adults through individual and couples therapy. Many of my couple clients have faced betrayal, loss of connection, communication challenges, and unresolved past trauma. By using Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, you will learn the tools to heal and strengthen your relationship.
Individual therapy is a bit different. I can promise you that you will be heard. We will address those issues that you feel are blocking your full potential, whether that is a present situation, a past hurt, or a combination of the two.

Collaboration is key. Whether in a professional or personal environment it feels better when we know we have someone to lean on. People we can trust and know that they have our best interests at heart. This is the foundation of the therapy I offer my clients.
You will be heard. You will be seen. And you will not be judged. I have been on the other side of the therapy scenario. I have felt unimportant (until it was time to pay) and unheard. I have felt that the therapist was not present with me and that I was weak for showing my emotions. I have left appointments feeling worse about myself than when I arrived. This is unacceptable.
As with all of my clients, you have rights.
You have the right to experience your own unique struggles, challenges, and perspectives.
You have the right to feel exactly what you are feeling.
You have the right to be heard.
And, you have the right to do all of this in a safe, accepting, and validating environment.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” ~ Helen Keller
We will work together to accomplish your desired goals. Our time together is yours. I may share experiences from my personal life, when I feel it to be helpful, but you will never be my therapist! I have heard some horror stories about therapy from clients and I empathize with them, along with congratulating them for attempting therapy again.
Clients have shared with me that they trust me. They know that I am in their corner, but just as quickly will challenge them when necessary. They know that when they reach out, outside of session, I will respond within the day. They know that they are not alone in this journey, at the same time feeling stronger to make decisions without my influence.
I want you to experience therapy like this. You deserve to get the help you need and want. This can be a moment of apprehension. Making the call, sending the email, setting up that first appointment. I will do my best to provide you with comfort and acceptance for all you are feeling.
“If you can laugh together, you can work together” ~ Author Unknown
Lastly, while we will be dealing with pain and challenges, therapy does not have to be entirely sad. An emotional breakthrough, tears shed, deep breaths inhaled are all very therapeutic, and so is laughter. When you feel comfortable enough with a person to share your most intimate thoughts, trauma, betrayals, secrets, feelings, allowing yourself to completely open up because they have made it safe for you to do so, that is part of collaboration, and it is freeing. When you can also laugh with this person it creates a reassurance you are in the right place. I am this person.
What you are going through is your experience; no one knows it as well as you do. But you are not alone. I will walk with you to a place of forgiveness (of partner and/or self), closeness, and communication. I will help you have joining conversations with your partner and rekindle passion. I will help you heal from the past, realize your worth to create the future you deserve, and assist you in staying aligned with what you want your life to be.
I look forward to meeting you and beginning our collaboration towards your deserved future! Call or email me today!
