About me
I am a Resident in Counseling, certified in Trauma-Informed CBT, and I bring decades of experience working with active-duty military members, Veterans, and their spouses. My work has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who have served our country. It is my passion and privilege to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can navigate your concerns, heal, and grow.
I am a compassionate and dedicated Resident in Counseling with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University. With over 20 years of military-related experience as a Navy spouse, mother, and volunteer, I offer a unique perspective on the challenges of military life. Working collaboratively with various commands, sailors, and spouses has deepened my understanding of the complexities service members and their families face when navigating the many transitions they encounter. I am a Certified Trauma Professional with specialized training in Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and am currently undergoing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My personal journey as a parent of children with disabilities and my involvement with foster care and adoption communities have further enriched my ability to support clients with diverse needs. Clinically, I worked at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, providing counseling in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have experience addressing a range of concerns, including military and life transitions, PTSD, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, postpartum challenges, trauma, and everyday stressors. I take an individualized and holistic approach, working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals. My warm and compassionate demeanor fosters a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their concerns and embrace personal growth. Whether you're navigating a life transition, seeking relief from stress, or working through trauma, I am here to guide you on your journey toward healing and wellness.
