About me
First, I want to let you know that you are making a very mature decision to seek counseling for yourself. I am an affirming therapist. The goal is for the client to feel motivated, accepted, and heard. I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Supervisor and Certified School Counselor in addition to providing Certified Anger Resolution Therapy. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes Solution Focused, EMDR, Sand Tray, and Play Therapy. She and her husband, Clint (a Speech Pathologist), own Morningsong Therapy, PLLC in Wharton Texas. She has been in education for 26 years. I have worked in public education for 22 years counseling students in Pre-Kindergarten through high school. I am currently the Director of Counseling and Disability Services at Wharton County Junior College.
I received my undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and my Master's degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Supervisor and Certified School Counselor in addition to providing Certified Anger Resolution Therapy. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilize Solution-Focused, EMDR, Sand Tray, and Play Therapy. My husband and I own Morningsong Therapy in Wharton, Texas. I have been in education for twenty-six years. My approach to therapy includes but is not limited to providing the client with the tools needed to feel empowered on their journey. I do not only use one type of counseling theory. I use the best interventions and resources from a variety of therapy sources. My philosophy of counseling is working with the client to create goals and an agenda for our sessions together.
