About me

Amanda’s greatest strengths come from both lived experience and professional training. Having walked alongside individuals and families facing many of the same challenges she treats, she brings deep understanding, compassion, and authenticity to her work. She especially enjoys helping those navigating Autism, OCD, depression, and anxiety find hope and healing.

Amanda McAtee, LPC, NCC is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Addictions. With over 10 years of experience, she has worked with a wide range of mental health concerns, including addictions, depression, anxiety, and OCD. Amanda has supported children, adults, couples, and families—always aiming to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood.

In her sessions, Amanda hopes clients gain emotional insight and clarity, helping them better understand their emotions and triggers. She works with clients to develop practical coping strategies that support anxiety management, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation. Through their work together, clients often experience improved communication, learning to express their thoughts and needs more clearly and authentically. Amanda encourages self-awareness and empowerment, helping clients reflect on patterns in their lives and take meaningful steps toward change. She strives to provide validation and support so each person feels seen, heard, and accepted, while also fostering accountability and helping clients set clear, achievable goals for the progress they seek.

Outside of her professional life, Amanda is married and is a proud mom of four children. Her youngest child is on the autism spectrum, giving her both personal and professional insight into supporting neurodiverse individuals. She also has extensive training and personal experience in managing OCD, which enhances her empathy and understanding for clients navigating similar challenges.
