About me
I am a licensed social worker offering free 15 minute consultations! Let me help you unlock a path to healing and wellness. You can reach me by phone or text at (817)839-3242.
As a strength-based, solution-focused therapist, I believe that everyone has the potential and the right to achieve a balanced and happy life. My areas of clinical focus are adults and adolescents who have experienced physical, emotional, or sexual trauma, families with dynamic communication issues including coparenting conflicts, and providing support for those struggling with addiction.
As a facilitator of change I will work with you to create a treatment plan that is customized to address your unique goals and needs in order to identify solutions and explore endless possibilities for your future.
I began my journey into social work somewhat serendipitously. After earning a degree in sociology, I found there were not many job opportunities available that aligned with my interests.
I ended up moving from Georgia to Texas and accepted the first job I found, which was in child welfare. In this role, I served as a conservatorship (legal) caseworker, providing case management services to children in foster care. I also worked alongside parents, assisting them in accessing services and empowering them to reunify with their children. After 4 years, I recognized therapists played a pivotal role in the outcomes of child custody cases. Understanding the significant impact a therapist has on the successful outcomes of foster children, I decided to pursue a career as a therapist. The same year I earned my Master's in Social Work, the Texas legislature mandated that conservatorship of those children in foster care be managed through community based care. I transitioned to working for the nonprofit who provided case management services to those children and their families. Within a year, I knew that obtaining my clinical license would enable me to have a more direct and less restrictive impact on the families I served.
After a decade in child welfare, I have fully committed to becoming a therapist and my passion for keeping children safe and promoting their wellbeing within the child welfare system has remained central to my work. I am confident that as a licensed therapist, I will be better equipped to support children and families in a more profound and lasting way. I am also excited to expand my ability to help individuals and families across the broader community.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, support, and a holistic perspective, while also being clear and direct. I am committed to treating each individual with respect, kindness, and understanding.
