About me

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate Supervised by Dr Gena St David

I am passionate about helping couples, families, and individuals consciously choose the change they want. I firmly believe, no matter what you are going through, there is a way forward that leads to a happier and healthier you.

Newness, even if it's goodness, can feel uncomfortable until we adapt. I am committed to helping you make sense of your world and find your way forward. Together let's explore what's going on beneath the surface of your behavior and find solutions that fit your unique situation. It's not too late to transform your connection to your self and others and live the life you desire.

I offer a wide variety of services:

1) Moms Seeking Balance
I love helping moms find their balance by either working with you individually or in my ongoing therapy group for moms. I have experience helping new moms prevent and heal from postpartum depression, infertility, and pregnancy loss. I can help you set down your childhood trauma as you strive to parent your children and teens differently than you were parented. I also have experience helping working moms sort through the tension of having their focus pulled in multiple directions.

2) Couples
Intimate relationships provide an excellent opportunity for personal and relational growth. Often when two people do life together, they are confronted with communication patterns, habits, or behavior that cause relationship tension.

Many couples, overwhelmed by this tension, start to imagine a future of committed misery, and turn to affairs, addiction, or divorce to manage their disappointment in the relationship. There is another way.

In couples counseling, get curious about what is going on beneath the surface of your words and behavior. Learn to tell your partner what you experience and desire in a way they can hear. By becoming emotionally attuned, you can solve problems as a team. Together you can consciously choose the change you want, enjoy a new level of intimacy, and create a life with shared purpose.

Based on the principles of Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy and Gottman Research.

3) Individuals
For individuals, I can guide you through your recovery from depression, anxiety, trauma (including sexual abuse), body image issues, mild OCD, addictions, and more. Regardless of what you are overcoming, therapy is a place for you to discover yourself.

With me, you will learn to map your internal realities, such as feelings, perceptions, expectations of self and others, yearnings and more. Through a variety of methods, I will teach you how to hone your inner compass, so you have a new way to process and respond to events now and in the future.

4) Discernment Counseling
Are you trying to decide if couples counseling is worth it? Does one of you want to save the marriage, but the other is shopping for a divorce lawyer? Don’t worry. Therapy can still help you weigh the options before moving forward with a decision about the future of your relationship.

Divorce Discernment is specifically designed for couples where one partner is “leaning out” and the other is “leaning in”. For 1-5 sessions I will meet with you and your partner together and separately to explore what “went wrong” in the relationship and how each of you contributed to the problem. Once you have more information, you decide 1) to keep the status quo, 2) repair the relationship, or 3) get a divorce. No matter which path you choose, we will put together a plan for moving forward.
