About me
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor. With over 18 years of experience, I specialize in supporting children and families from diverse backgrounds in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Pittsburgh.
My clinical approach is rooted in culturally competent, family-centered care. I integrate evidence-based practices with a strengths-based perspective, focusing on collaboration, empowerment, and respect for each family’s unique context. I am dedicated to trauma-informed care and prioritize creating safe, inclusive environments for healing and growth. Fluent in Spanish and English, I am passionate about expanding access to mental health resources for underserved communities, especially Spanish-speaking families.
My career has spanned roles as Program Manager and Supervisor at UPMC, Director of Family Services at the Latino Community Center, and Clinical Supervisor at Edgewood Center for Children and Families. I have developed and led training initiatives, facilitated family conferences for Spanish-speaking families, and contributed to expanding mental health resources for the Latino community.
I hold a master’s degree in counseling psychology and is dedicated to culturally competent care. I grew up in Guatemala and am fluent in Spanish and English. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, exploring new restaurants, and watching psychological thrillers with my family and two rescue dogs.
