About me
I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who is passionate about caring for clients who have faced trauma. I have trauma training and practice EMDR as well as trauma informed approaches. I take an eclectic approach to ensure that each client gets an individualized treatment experience.
My name is Allyson Borkowicz, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and develop a healthy balance between mind and body. I provide trauma-informed care for clients ages 4 and up, creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters healing and growth. I proudly accept Medicaid and Medicare, helping to make mental health care accessible to individuals and families from all backgrounds.
My areas of focus include trauma, mood disorders, addiction, developmental concerns, autism, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and psychosis, among others. I take an eclectic, individualized approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities to support meaningful change.
I have advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional, which enhances my ability to help clients process and heal from past experiences. Christian counseling is also available upon request.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward wellness.
