About me

I'm Allison, your practical and philosophical GPS, to reroute as needed. Here to walk with you through the tough moments and joyful ones.

I work with people needing to constantly translate their world into something digestible. Whether you are part of the LGBTQIA+ or BIPOC communities, navigating the complexities of polyamory and ENM, or balancing the worlds of being a first-generation immigrant, I help you find your center when the ground feels like it's shifting. Using an existential-humanistic lens we will look at the deeper questions of belonging, agency, and identity.

My work is deeply informed by my experience growing up in a low-income diverse community. I am passionate about decolonized, trauma-informed care for those facing grief and loss of all shapes and sizes. This includes the profound kind of grief that comes alongside identity loss in major life changes.

I’ve worked extensively with couples and poly relationships as well as those in the BIPOC and Queer community. My practice is rooted in the belief that we are responsible for making our own meaning. This becomes infinitely more difficult when navigating systemic oppression or cultural displacement. I hope to help you find that ground beneath your feet as you define it.

While my focus is on support and treatment for the whole person, I intend to ease the burden of common symptoms and struggles sometimes associated with the communities I’ve mentioned. Social anxiety and hypervigilance is common for those navigating the high expectations and perfectionism that is pervasive in the first gen and BIPOC experience. The weight of carrying the expectations of others, the hetero-normative regime, the purview of the world on your community weighs on us and can cause identity burnout, chronic depression, anxiety or numbness. I also provide a nonjudgmental space for those navigating addiction and addictive behaviors which often manifest as survival strategies when we are so worn down by the search for belonging and systemic pressure.

You don't need to have your labels and story figured out before we meet. My joy comes from the messy and creative process of making meaning together.
