About me
I am a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care across diverse and high‑acuity treatment settings. My practice is grounded in a deep respect for each client’s lived experience and a belief in their capacity for meaningful change.
I’m Adela Robinson, and if there’s one thing that has shaped my work more than anything else, it’s this: I genuinely care about people. Not in a vague, “helping profession” kind of way, but in the real, human sense—where someone’s story, their pain, their hopes, and their small victories actually matter to me.
I didn’t become a therapist because I had a perfect roadmap. I became one because I’ve always been the person people come to when they’re hurting, confused, or trying to make sense of themselves. I’ve always been drawn to the quiet moments when someone finally says the thing they’ve been holding in for years. There’s something sacred about that kind of honesty, and I’ve never taken it lightly.
My career has taken me into some of the most tender and intense corners of people’s lives—psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient programs, hospice rooms, and community mental health settings. Those experiences taught me how to stay steady in chaos, how to listen without rushing, and how to see the strength in someone even when they can’t see it themselves.
I use CBT, EMDR, DBT‑informed strategies, and trauma‑responsive care because I’ve watched them help people reclaim parts of themselves they thought were gone. But more than any modality, I believe in the power of being truly seen. When someone feels safe enough to explore their inner world, real change becomes possible.
Outside of sessions, I’m someone who values quiet reflection, meaningful conversations, and the small rituals that make life feel grounded. I’m always learning, always growing, and always trying to show up with the kind of presence that helps people feel understood.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will sit with you in the hard moments, celebrate the small steps, and help you build a life that feels more like your own, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
