About me
I believe that the homes we grew up in, the relationships we formed, our family dynamics and culture, birth order, and the communities we were part of during our developmental and formative years significantly shape our thought patterns and behaviors throughout life. I help clients grow awareness and manage these patterns by gaining new perspective and insight, and by developing emotional management, distress tolerance, communication, and interpersonal skill.
Hi, my name is Adam. I've been intrigued by people and the reasons behind our thoughts, words, and actions from a very young age while experiencing a mixed race home and witnessing adoption, education exchange, and foster care. My interest in becoming a therapist was likely developed early in life, although I didn't realize it until later. I hold multi-cultural competence as critical in developing a personalized and healing experience. The most rewarding part of being a therapist is witnessing others realize new levels of personal fulfillment and happiness they didn't believe existed, or hadn't seen for a while. Seeing someone's eyes light up with understanding and growth is both profound and deeply fulfilling for me. I view my practice as family focused, and centered on developing healthy interpersonal insight and skill necessary for calm communication, understanding, greater emotional intelligence, and greater understanding of ourselves.
