About me
Hola! I am a Latinx/a Bilingual Psychotherapist located and practicing in Southern California. I am committed to my own healing and unlearning to relearn what it truly means to embody justice and liberation.
Values and Approach
I hold myself to be an advocate for my clients. Life has proven to be hard for people in different ways for many different reasons. I believe in the capabilities of people and uplifting them to help them build a reality that they foresee that is worth living. Through my personal experiences and my work with families, I discovered a need to mend the ruptures in people and families. I have a passion to provide a better service to our Folx that do not meet the current mental health paradigms and colonized diagnostic tools.
About My Practice
I have witnessed the uniqueness and complexities of individual’s upbringing and their familial connections. This led to the core of my work. Therefore, I have diversified my knowledge and influences by including Attachment, Cognitive-Behavioral, Developmental Psychology, Neuro-Psychological, Humanistic-Existential theories in my practice. I believe in honoring Indigenous knowledge rooted in nature as well as the intricacies of the Gut-Brain connection.
Being a mother, spouse, matriarch, daughter, facilitator, educator, and a part of intergenerational history has allowed me to see the uniqueness of life in society today. Our lifestyles and occupations have disconnected us from what we intuitively know to be important; family, self, belonging, community, and having confidence in knowing that we all matter
Depression, anxiety, and high levels of stress are symptoms of conveyer belt life and an attempt to upkeep societal norms. They are not necessarily a result of the choices we make. We can choose differently, but sometimes it takes the help of someone else to see how. My hope is to help you, as an individual, and as part of a bigger system, to work through your past and into a brighter future. Transgenerational and intergenerational healing is possible through decolonized therapeutic practices.
In my personal life, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my large family, learning, playing, and discovering with them daily, and our connectedness with the life cycles of our natural ecosystems. It’s true what they say, they do grow up fast!
