I am an experienced adult psychotherapist specializing in substance abuse and other addictions. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome their fears, anxiety, trauma, depression, and other personal issues in a gentle and caring way. I am licensed in Ohio as a licensed (clinical) professional counselor, and I have been in practice since 2019 when I graduated from Bellevue University with a master’s in clinical counseling. I have worked with both individuals and couples from my community.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the primary tool that helps a person grow and I am very client centered in my clinical approach. In therapy, I see my role as a gentle guide who listens and helps the client find their best path forward. I understand that no one is a “label” and I treat each client as an individual experiencing distress that is seeking help. Irving Yalom puts it nicely “create a new therapy for each client.” I use motivational interviewing, CBT, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic theory to better help and understand my clients.
While I see many individuals and couples, my primary focus in my practice is helping those that are substance abusers and their families. I have become expert in crisis intervention and am available to my clients in emergency situations.
