About me
I work with individuals, couples, and families who are looking for assistance in coping with life struggles and being “stuck”. My goal is to help people positively navigate the life challenges they are facing and transition into a happier state.
I am committed to collaborating with my clients to help strengthen their relationships with others and themselves, on their journey to building a happier, fulfilled life. I see myself as an energetic, personable, and compassionate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about the work I do with my clients and work hard to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space. Life gets messy and that’s okay. I believe that everyone could benefit from therapy and see those taking on the challenge of making changes in their lives a sign of strength and wisdom.
Issues I address include addiction, anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. In addressing those issues, I use a systemic approach (focusing on people’s relationships/interactions). My process includes evidence-based treatments, a structural and strategic family therapy model, solution-focused techniques, and cognitive behavioral influenced methods.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to a specific issue. I collaborate with my clients to figure out the best personal approach for them to successfully make changes and achieve their goals. I see myself as a facilitator of change who provides guidance to clients in developing new skills, and identifying and utilizing their strengths, while meeting the client where they are at and allowing them to work at their own pace.
I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University in 2017, with honors. I attended undergrad at St. Lawrence University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Sociology.
I have a background in addiction/substance use (working with groups, families, and individuals in recovery), anxiety, depression, family and couple conflict, life transitions, self-esteem, ADHD, and stress management.
