About me
I am seasoned Licensed Counselor with experience in individual and group therapy, working with clients within the Birth-5, Child & Family, Adolescent, Adult, & Senior populations. I understand and value that each client I meet with has their own story, culture, traditions and background, so our work together will be tailored to fit your or your family's needs. I have spent many years working hard to make a difference within our community's mental health, so I thank you for taking the time to explore what I have to offer and I hope to hear from you so that we may make your personalized experience a special and successful one.
My therapy practice is grounded on the foundations of trust, honesty and compassion. With these elements we will be able to build and maintain a healthy and progressive therapeutic relationship. My philosophy is that we are all human, all need help at times, and are all deserving of love and respect. There is not a one size fits all approach when it comes to therapy, so it is important for me to customize a plan that best suits your individualized counseling needs. My promise to you is to always listen first; it is important to me to know that you feel heard and that I understand where your struggles may lie, so that we may proactively work together as a team towards resolution. I promise to provide a calm and peaceful environment, so that you may feel safe and comfortable within our time together. You can expect to feel secure within our confidential and judgement free therapy sessions.
I completed my Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Arizona State University. While maintaining a full-time class schedule and working two jobs, I volunteered in a research lab on campus where we conducted studies and analyzed data related to human emotion. Upon completion of my Bachelors, I proceeded to earn my Masters of Counseling Psychology at Grand Canyon University; which concluded with a practicum at a local integrated healthcare agency where I provided therapeutic services to children, families, adolescents, adults, and seniors through individual and group therapy.
I value community and all the inner workings that contribute to ours. Equality and justice are at the forefront of my values, which to me extends to humans, animals, and our Earth. I approach life with love, compassion and curiosity so that I may move through life with the openness to learn and grow, while also being able to teach those around me who are open to listen.
Outside of my practice and professional endeavors, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing and producing music, photography, drawing and painting, visiting art galleries and museums, and traveling.
I have spent many years working hard to make a difference within our community's mental health, so I thank you for taking the time to explore what I have to offer and I hope to hear from you so that we may make your personalized experience a special and successful one.
